HomeGroup sharing removed from Windows 10 (Version 1803)

“HomeGroup” has been removed from the 1803 version (the Windows 10 April

2018 Update) of Windows 10.

So, If you manged to get the whole homegroup thing to work properly in older versions of win10…, and if you’re trying to share something new on your homegroup you might run into some er.. issues.. in short: it won’t work, those options are gone.

Any folder, files, printers that you previously shared using HomeGroup will continue to be shared though.

However, even though it has been removed, you can still share printers and files by using features that are built into Windows 10.

How secure is your password?

Most likely – not very.

Try “beer” or “secret” for amusement value.

Note that you should probably not enter your actual password – only something similar in size and structure.

“We recently identified a bug that stored passwords unmasked in an internal log. We have fixed the bug, and our investigation shows no indication of breach or misuse by anyone.”
