Sweet – bring all the updates

Snapseed 2.9 available today for Android and iOS, with RAW support on iOS

Following RAW support for Android last October, today we’re bringing full RAW support to Snapseed by rolling out the ability for the professional file format to be edited on iOS.

The new RAW tool opens automatically when Snapseed detects a RAW file and works seamlessly with other Snapseed tools, such as Healing, Brushes, Frames, Text, HDR or Details. Editing changes can be saved non-destructively, or exported as a plain JPG in high quality. Some of the available adjustments for RAW include Structure, Tint, Shadow control, Exposure (-4.0 to 4.0 f-stops), and Temperature (1.700°K to over 8.000°K). Anyone using Snapseed 2.9 and an Apple USB SD card photo adapter or WiFi SD card can now work with RAW images.

In addition to RAW support for iOS, on both iOS and Android we’re rolling out the all-new Face tool: a photographic tool that helps you bring focus to faces, smoothen skin, and add clarity to eyes.

Also on Android: new Perspective and White Balance tools. Perspective straightens lines in your image by removing the perspective effect from the original image. White Balance offers fine color balance control with pinpoint precision via an eye dropper tool.

Finally, in addition to UI improvements and bug fixes on both Android and iOS, you can now set the preferred JPG compression rate, or even save lossless (PNG) when exporting.

Look for the update to hit the Play Store and App Store today. Happy editing!

Rolling out today on Android and iOS: Text! Snapseed 2.8 includes the new Text filter with tons of font styles and colors to choose from. The style options are endless with the ability to invert the text, change the opacity, or even use the Text filter in combination with the stack brush to create one-of-a-kind designs.

Also included in the 2.8 update is the ability to configure Snapseed to resize photos when sharing or exporting, as well as various UI adjustments and bug fixes. Watch for the update in the Play Store and App Store.

Hangouts v11 – just a heads up…

Hangouts v11 – just a heads up for those of you, myself included, who uses merged conversations in Google hangouts.

Edit: I read somewhere, earlier, that all of the sms support would dissappear – that’s probably (hopefully) not the case. So it seems that you can send/receive sms in v11, but you’re not able to merge the sms conversations with chat – still stupid. And at this point I don’t trust any info out there…

In googles “let’s make absolutely everything——a separate app–strike” its now time for hangouts to lose its sms integration because sms is so – —f&ckingdifficult to do that it needs an app all by it self. Right? :/

Anyhow.. when you update to Hangouts version 11.0 on Android, you won’t be able to merge your Hangouts and text (SMS) conversations.

I guess I’ll be leaving automatic update to off for hangouts for now.
